LAICE-F Preliminary Design Review Completed
LAICE_F

This week Isabel Anderson led a team of students in completing the Lower Atmosphere/Ionosphere Coupling Experiment- Follow-on (LAICE-F) Preliminary Design Review. Principal Investigators Greg Earle from Va Tech and Gary Swenson from UIUC participated in the review. The spacecraft employs an industry bus and repurposes a set of existing experiment payloads for the mission. For the review, Michael Harrigan helped with orbital simulations and mission integration, Qi Lim provided configuration analysis and CAD layouts, Michelle Zosky provided thermal analysis, Logan Power reviewed the avionics hardware selections, Elizabeth Atkinson provided Communications and Link Budget analysis, and Rick Eason layer out the story for integration and test. The PIs will now look for opportunities to bid the follow-on concept into a NASA program opportunity.
